ZeKju x Loopario – Creating digital processes between drivers and the back office together

Every day, millions of road transport operations are carried out across Europe, spanning different companies, languages, and systems. It is precisely where drivers, subcontractors, and various logistics partners collaborate that information silos frequently emerge: details are exchanged via phone or messaging apps and then manually entered into TMS, ERP, or WMS systems.

Our partner ZeKju addresses the very data gaps that also concern us in load carrier management. Together with ZeKju, we want to enable logistics companies to implement seamless, digital processes that are aligned with the realities of the industry.

Digital driver communication without information silos

Communicating with drivers is one of the greatest operational challenges in road freight transport. Status updates, queries, documents, or photos are often handled via phone, SMS, or messaging apps. The challenge here is that information is lost due to a lack of system integration or, at best, is manually transferred into an operational system with a time delay.

ZeKju digitizes this exact process while ensuring that the various stakeholders in a transport operation are digitally connected. Drivers continue to communicate via their familiar channels, such as SMS or messaging apps—without the need for an additional app or complex onboarding. Shared data, such as status updates, geo-positions, ETA information, or documents like load carrier receipts, are assigned to the correct transport. Today, around 130,000 transports per month are already being processed via ZeKju. This allows companies to significantly reduce manual dispatching efforts while simultaneously creating much greater transparency across the entire transport chain. The added value is particularly high wherever many external drivers or subcontractors are involved—for example, at freight forwarding companies with a high proportion of subcontractors or at industrial and logistics sites with many changing vehicles.

How ZeKju and Loopario work together

The contact between Loopario and ZeKju was established through a mutual customer who wanted to connect both solutions. It quickly became clear how well both platforms complement each other. ZeKju digitally maps all communication surrounding a transport. The platform knows the current transport status, the driver, relevant documents, and the time of delivery or pickup. Loopario supplements this information with the digital recording and management of the load carriers used. Typical joint customers are freight forwarders or shippers who work with both their own drivers and changing subcontractors while simultaneously moving large quantities of Euro pallets, pallet cages, or other reusable load carriers. This is exactly where the transport process and load carrier management meet head-on.

Status updates, GPS data, and transport and load carrier receipts are captured via ZeKju. Using AI, documents are automatically checked for readability, completeness, and correct assignment, and then processed in a structured manner. Documents containing load carrier information are transferred to Loopario, where they are processed together with inventory data from ERP, TMS, or WMS systems. The biggest benefit is high adoption with minimal effort. Existing drivers and subcontractors continue working as usual, while joint customers benefit from the integration without any additional rollout.

What comes next

Our shared goal is to provide this integration as a standard solution to both customer bases and to further automate the collaboration between transport communication and load carrier management. The roles are clearly defined: ZeKju digitizes communication and data collection between dispatch and the driver, while Loopario handles the intelligent management of load carriers. For our joint customers, this means: in the future, a document or receipt will only need to be recorded once, processed automatically, and transferred immediately to the correct systems. Duplicate data entry is eliminated, processes become faster, and data quality increases.

This combination is particularly interesting wherever many external drivers are employed and large quantities of reusable load carriers are moved at the same time. With ZeKju, you can digitize your driver communication within a few days. Thanks to the existing standard integration with Loopario, digital load carrier management can then also be integrated without the need for complex custom development. This creates an end-to-end process—from the driver and transport communication all the way to the digital pallet account.
