Fiege Achieves End-to-End Visibility in Load Carrier Management with Loopario
- Logistics provider manages around 4.7 million load carriers
- Loopario provides visibility into inventory, movements, and costs
- Expansion of the solution to all load carriers planned
Loopario (formerly Logistikbude) is digitizing load carrier management for the Fiege Group. The Dortmund-based tech company is initially rolling out its Load Carrier Management System (LCMS) for the logistics provider's tire racks. With around 4.7 million load carriers in circulation, Fiege now gains an end-to-end digital representation of its processes, along with greater visibility into inventory, movements, and costs. Following the successful completion of the first project phase, the solution is set to be gradually expanded to all load carriers starting in the second quarter of 2027.
"What convinced us was the LCMS's holistic approach: Loopario covers the entire load carrier management process. On top of that, there's the team's proven expertise and the maturity of the solution," says Oliver Hüttermann, Director Business Administration Transport at Fiege.
Connecting Operational and Commercial Processes
Fiege’s operations involve large volumes of many different load carriers moving through numerous processes every day across a total of 131 sites in 15 countries. The range extends from Euro pallets, mesh box pallets, and H1 plastic pallets to customer-specific special load carriers and racks for tire logistics. Until now, the related information has been processed in various systems. Movement data from the transportation management system is partly fed in automatically, while the monthly financial valuation is still carried out separately. Going forward, Loopario’s LCMS will bring this information together and link operational load carrier movements with their financial valuation.
“With Loopario, we can reliably determine inventory and costs, identify discrepancies early, and manage processes in a targeted way—allowing us to further professionalize and expand the range of services we offer our customers,” explains Hüttermann.
In addition, processes are to become more standardized and recurring manual tasks reduced, freeing up teams to focus on higher-value work. Because the partners involved are also integrated digitally, accounts can be reconciled more easily and discrepancies resolved faster. Fiege is pursuing three specific goals: First, it wants to regularly and fully assess the financial value of all pallet and load carrier movements, optimizing its own profit and loss for the pallet business with a holistic approach. Second, it aims to increase its level of automation. And third, it plans to expand and enhance the services it provides to its customers. “A zero-tolerance policy toward losses is firmly anchored in our corporate values. Loopario gives us the processes and data we need to actually live up to that standard,” says Hüttermann.

Starting with Tire Racks
A consulting project in which Fiege and Loopario examined the potential of existing processes began as early as November 2025. Since the operational project launch in July 2026, the logistics provider has been managing its tire racks in Loopario at all tire logistics sites, running in parallel with its existing systems. Through October 2026, current processes are being documented, relevant information consolidated, and workflows further standardized. Once this first phase is complete, the plan is to gradually expand Loopario to all other load carriers, based on an evaluation of the results so far.
The connection between the two companies came about through Fiege’s ventures division: through F-LOG, the logistics provider already holds a stake in Loopario. With the operational rollout of the LCMS, this relationship now extends to a concrete use case within Fiege itself.
Markus Hüting, Principal at F-LOG, says: “We recognized Loopario’s potential early on, which is why we invested in the company through F-LOG. The fact that the technology is now being used at Fiege itself underscores, in our view, how practical and mature the concept is.”
